MELVILLE, N.Y., February 29, 2016 - Honeywell (NYSE:HON) today introduced the first in a series of alarm communications radios compatible with Verizon’s wireless network, giving security dealers more options to expand their businesses in alternative cellular coverage areas.
The new CDMA-X Radio with Verizon 1XRTT technology supports Honeywell Total Connect Remote Services® and alarm signal transport for fire, burglary and status messages. It comes pre-activated and is remotely upgradable, allowing for a faster installation and lower maintenance costs.
The new line of radios from Honeywell will leverage Verizon’s wireless network, which is based on Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology. Radios registered via AlarmNet Direct can be activated in all Verizon and Verizon partner coverage areas, helping dealers increase their wireless footprint and speed up installations.
