Watching over the Security checkpoint and surrounding areas may require distant placement of cameras while needing to view close-up images. Windows in the area can allow light levels to change. Remote viewing capabilities of the system enable a security supervisor to centrally supervise one or more security checkpoints. This provides some redundancy in higher security applications, and can replace the need for a guard to be posted in other application.
Keeping a history of close-up views of packages, articles, or vehicles passing through the checkpoint allows the system to provide long-term availability of evidence captured. Matching packages to owners who pass through the checkpoint can provide even more useful information when required.
PTZ cameras allow the user to move the camera and to zoom in for a close-up view. Use of this type of camera can help the building owner to require fewer roaming guards, thereby reducing the overall monthly cost of the security applications.
