Watching Over Alleyways

Alleys provide required access for public utility connections, receiving docks, trash and refuse removal, and emergency fire department access to the rear of the building. Although you may have many doors leading to the alley, you may wish to designate one for use as an entry and exit point, while reserving the other doors for emergency exit uses only. Because Alleys typically go unwatched, they invite graffiti, illegal dumping, and other forms of vandalism. Watching over utility connections increases the integrity of operational aspects of the facility.

Typical uses are shown in the table below.

Protected Areas:
Parking Areas Watch over cars during their visit, or identify vehicles that enter or leave parking facilities. See if parked cars are being disturbed. Identify who is disturbing the vehicle.
Doorways Identify individuals as they enter and leave a building or facility.
Emergency Exits Capture video of those who force their way through emergency exits. See who initiated an emergency alarm.
Shipping / Receiving  Dock View the handling and transfer of packages, freight, and shipments. See who is handling the containers. Count containers on conveyors.
Stairwells View activity around stairwells. See if a stairwell is in use. See who is using a stairwell. Quickly identify accidents or likely injuries.
