Rogers AMPS Network Scheduled to Shut Down in Canada June 1, 2007

May 31, 2007

This is a final reminder that the Rogers Wireless AMPS network that provides underlying support for the AlarmNet C service was scheduled to end at midnight tonight.

In working together with Rogers Wireless, they have accommodated us by moving the actual effective time to 7:00AM local time Friday June 1, 2007 instead of 12:00AM local time Thursday May 31, 2007.

This concession by Rogers helps reduce the potential annoyances your customers may experience when radio service is interrupted. By moving this time to the morning when most people are starting their day, your customers will be better able to reach out to you and coordinate a service call.

If you have not already done so, we strongly urge you to contact your customers as soon as possible to inform them of this important change, which could potentially leave them without service. Below are previously distributed announcements from Honeywell of this event that contain steps to reprogram AlarmNet-C radios in the event of failures.

Additionally, Honeywell is currently providing new products and services that operate on Rogers’ GSM digital network and stands ready to assist you as you transition your customers to this new technology. For more information on Honeywell's GSM Communication solutions, please contact your local ADI Branch at 1-877-ADI-SERV.
