MELVILLE, N.Y., Sept. 29, 2009 – The latest enhancement to Honeywell’s
(NYSE:HON) suite of Total Connect digital communication services allows end
users to control multiple security systems with a single log-on.
Total Connect enables home and business owners to remotely control their
security system panels using Web-enabled devices such as desktop PCs, laptops
and cell phones. Ideal for commercial end users such as chain store owners who
manage multiple facilities, Total Connect Multi-Site allows operators to use a
single login to select up to 50 sites using a simple drop-down list.
Additionally, the system can be programmed to send E-mail notifications from any
site to alert users to both potential security threats and non-critical events.
“Many digital services require different logins to access control panels at
different sites, which makes the technology cumbersome and inefficient,” said
Dean Mason, product marketing manager, Honeywell Security & Communications.
“Total Connect Multi-Site streamlines operations. You log on once, and then use
the same account to arm or disarm multiple systems and view video feeds from
facilities at various locations.”
Total Connect Multi-Site is supported by Honeywell’s AlarmNet® communications
network. Using AlarmNet’s web-based tool – AlarmNet Direct – security dealers,
integrators and central stations can easily configure Multi-Site capabilities
for new Total Connect accounts, and migrate existing accounts to the new
technology.
Multi-Site is the latest in a string of enhancements Honeywell has made to
the Total Connect platform. Earlier this year, Honeywell introduced MyKeypad,
which provides consumers convenient remote control of their security systems via
their mobile devices. The company also released the MyKeypad App for the Apple
iPhone®.
